More than a dozen athletes participated in the Spartanburg Flames High School Basketball Camp during the week of July 20. Throughout the week, players competed, sharpened their individual skills, and continued developing the team concepts and basketball IQ they will need heading into the upcoming season.
Camp sessions challenged athletes in all areas of the game, including ball handling, shooting, finishing, defense, rebounding, decision-making, and team play. With a mix of instruction, competitive drills, contests, and live game situations, players had opportunities to put those skills into practice against other high school athletes.
Coach Harvey and Coach Smith were in attendance throughout the camp, working with players on both the physical and mental sides of the game. The coaches were encouraged by the effort, competitiveness, and willingness to learn shown by the athletes throughout the week.
At the conclusion of camp, two players were recognized for their outstanding performances. Congratulations to Caleb Hernandez, who earned the Silver Ball, and Jaylin Templeton, who took home the camp’s Gold Ball. Both athletes distinguished themselves through their performance, effort, and overall play during the week.
Thank you to all of the athletes and families who helped make our High School Basketball Camp a success. Opportunities like these give Flames athletes a chance to improve their skills while building chemistry, confidence, and relationships with their teammates before the season begins.
